enella Garden Designs, LLC was started in the 2007 by Holly Jones Radus. Before she began her career in landscape design, she worked in healthcare administration at the Veteran's Administration Hospital of Washington D.C. and Children's National Medical Center. After having her first child, she realized she wanted to change her life from sitting behind a desk to one that involved her passions and hobbies. Landscape design was and is the perfect fit, as it combines gardening, ecology, biology, art, design, engineering, business, and so much more.
A graduate of the George Washington University graduate program in landscape design, Holly has a wealth of knowledge and experience in bringing out the best in your landscape. She is also a certified Master Gardener, a program through the Virginia Cooperative Extension, so you can count on Benella Garden Designs to design amazing grounds for you at a reasonable price.
Holly is originally from North and South Carolina, and currently resides with her husband and two children in the North Arlington, Virginia area. She has a B.S. from North Carolina State University and an M.H.A. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Holly is also very active in the landscape design and gardening community of the local area, through several volunteer and continuing education programs. She is a member of the Metropolitan Washington DC's landscape designers professional group, the Landscape Designers Group (www.landscapedesignersgroup.com), where she serves on the Board as webmaster. In addition, through her young son, Ben, she is involved in Glebe Elementary School's childrens gardening efforts, where she has helped to design and maintain new garden spaces for the entire community to enjoy. She has also participated in Yorktown High School's Senior Experience Internship Program, serving as a landscape design mentor. Recently, Holly joined the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association, which includes continuing education programs to keep her apprised of current trends in horticulture and landsape design.
